kleinfieldOur premiere episode looks at “The Lonely Death of George Bell,” written by N.R. Kleinfield for the New York Times in October 2015.

“The Lonely Death of George Bell” tells the story of a man who died, alone, in his apartment in Queens, New York, and wasn’t discovered until nearly a week later. It looks at what happened next, how people were affected by his death, and lastly, what we know about the life of George Bell.

Mr. Kleinfield has been a writer for the New York Times since 1977. His work has won the Pulitzer Prize and the Polk Awards. He has also received the Meyer Berger Award, a Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award and an American Society of Newspaper Editors award. He is the author of eight nonfiction books, and has written for a number of national magazines, including Harper’s, The Atlantic, Esquire, Rolling Stone, and The New York Times Magazine.
